It is certainly possible to park on the estate, we have a capacity of 250 parking spaces.

In 1695, Arnold Joost van Keppel commissioned the architects of Het Loo Palace, Jacobus Roman and Daniël Marot, to build the majestic palace/castle "Huis De Voorst" (a replica of Het Loo) on his ancestral estate in Eefde. The magnificent castle soon became known as the "Versailles of the Achterhoek". Important guests were welcomed at the castle by Arnold Joost van Keppel and by William Henry of Orange, a good friend of his. For more information on the history of the estate click here.

Appointments for a personal meeting & atmospheric viewing for your wedding or event can be made via our CONTACT page on our website. We will contact you as soon as possible after receiving your request to make an appointment.
Appointments for a personal meeting with an atmospheric tour for a wedding or event are also possible in the evening outside our regular office hours and at weekends.

Animals are certainly welcome on the property!
Please discuss all options regarding animals with our team. -
For guests of the Van Keppel Suite Apartment we have a guest wifi. Our team on location will be happy to give you the login details.

We maintain a strict "no smoking" policy in all indoor areas, including our suites. Smoking is permitted outside on the front steps, or in the back of our lounge.

Handicapped
For guests who may have difficulty walking, we have an electric stairlift available that can be used on all interior and exterior stairs of the main building. This of course completely free of charge.
Unfortunately, the stair elevator cannot be used for the suites, and we recommend that the first floor suites be available for these guests (Suite suite house: Earl of Albemarle Suite & Countess of Albemarle Suite).
Wheelchair Accessibility
On Estate Huis de Voorst we have a wheelchair ramp which can be placed on request for access to the first floor of the main building. Within the main building (if not wheelchair bound) we have an electric stair elevator which can be used for moving between floors. If you will have guests present who use wheelchairs, we will work with you to find the best logistical solutions to ensure that each guest has the best experience at the property.
For guests with wheelchairs, we also recommend the first floor suites be available (Suite Coach House: Earl of Albemarle Suite. Countess of Albemarle Suite - larger bathroom and wider access bathroom).

We have no elevator on the property. However, we do use a wheelchair ramp & electric stair elevator, if desired.

Simply - No!
However, certain dates are reserved for weddings/events with full day & evening programs. For example: Fridays/Saturdays in high season.
In this, turnover & guest numbers are not a determining factor.

You are not required to purchase the suites when holding a wedding/event.

An end time after 00:00 are possible for weddings & events!
However, we do maintain a night surcharge (rate) for staff hours, which are calculated per hour from 00:00.

We enforce the national & regional noise standards covered by the Activities Decree. Decibels are measured at specific locations inside & outside the estate on the facade of sensitive buildings at a height of 1.5 meters.

We recommend booking a cab or rideshare available in the area at least 1 day in advance!
When booking on the same evening (especially on weekends), a cab service in the heart of the Achterhoek can quickly become an unexpected challenge!
Uber is not available in this region to date.
We are happy to make contact information for a number of cab companies in the area available to you.

Unfortunately, we do not have a microphone, outdoor speakers, projector, or screen available on the property.
We will gladly advise you on the basis of your specific needs & the trusted suppliers who will be happy to help you with this.

Yes that is possible!
On the estate, we have a Suite Coach House & a Suite Apartment:
The "Baron of Ashford" Suite Coach HouseIn the Suite carriage house there are four Suites. Each Suite has 2 double rooms equipped with a bathroom & kitchen. The Coach House has a capacity of approximately 18 guests. Atmospheric, classic & stylishly decorated, equipped with American King-size & Queen-size Heavenly beds.
The "Van Keppel" Suite Apartment
Our Suite apartment - the Van Keppel Suite - features 3 double rooms, salle de séjour (living room), kitchenette, bathroom with shower & cast iron 'clawfoot' bath with a separate toilet, foyer & private entrance.
Dependance
10 minutes away from the estate is our hotel, which has 50 double rooms. Guests can be provided with a shuttle service between the hotel & the estate. This combination offers you and your guests on the estate the maximum in exclusivity and privacy.

We have room for 18 people in the Coach House. 16 if the bridal suite is only used by the bride and groom.
In the apartment we have room for 6 people.
These numbers are without extra bed options & occupancy of 2 persons per double room, and 3 persons per triple room.

Check-in in our suites is possible from 3 p.m. onwards.

The latest check-out time is 11 a.m.

If booked, breakfast times are from 09:00 to 10:00.

We have 2 irons & ironing boards available for our guests which we are happy to set up for you in the suite upon request.

To date, we do not have a pool, Jacuzzi or fitness room present on the property.

Yes definitely! It is possible to get married outside in several places with us, weather permitting. Since the weather in the Netherlands can be quite unpredictable, we always have an indoor space ready for the ceremony.

On the day, one of our party managers will be available for questions and will act as your point of contact. Your party manager will also have the final points conversation with you.

Yes, that is possible. Landgoed Huis De Voorst is the town hall of the municipality of Lochem, which includes Eefde. The wedding ceremony can take place in any atmospheric room of the castle, or of course, when the weather is nice, in our attractive English gardens. Your wedding ceremony will be arranged by the municipality of Lochem.

No, no other companies are present on the day. You are renting the Corps de Logis exclusively for your party on the day.

We have seasonal rates for the exclusive use of the Heritage Lodge & stay in our Corps de Logis of Estate Huis de Voorst. Please contact us for our current rates.

We are a "dressed up" location. This means that we do not rent empty rooms, but the location as during the viewing, already has decoration, furniture and furnishings.
Should you still want to use ornaments & decorations, you certainly can!
At the end of your day/evening, our team will collect these for you & place them in a convenient loading spot.

No we do not have a runner at the moment. If you bring one, we recommend a carpet that is 2m wide in 3 pieces of 10m. Please indicate in advance.

Yes, this is possible. You can then talk to our chef about your idea of a cake.

No, for each wedding we prepare a dinner that can be filled in together with our chef so that all culinary wishes are taken into account.

That is not necessary. We have 5 DJs, each with their own style, who can perform during your party night. Of course, it is also possible to have your own DJ.

We have a wide range of entertainment on our estate. We have our Classic games: In the atmospheric gardens of Landgoed Huis de Voorst, you can also enjoy the classic French game Jeux de Boules, a Dutch shuffleboard & English Croquet. In a friendly and relaxed atmosphere you will imagine yourself to be back in time for a while. We also have a photobooth and whisper boats. Culinary & wine workshops are the perfect way to let your guests be part of your culinary interpretation. From a wine & food tasting to personal styling of the wedding cake or cupcakes. Suitable for all ages!

Animals are possible on the estate for all sorts of occasions & can be used anywhere. During the wedding ceremony, photo shoot or even while lounging. That is not necessary. If you have your own dream car for the arrival, this is of course possible, but we also have a number of options. From helicopter landings in our gardens, to English double-decker buses - the arrival moment at your wedding can be tailored to your personal wishes. We would be delighted to advise you on the possibilities and choose your unforgettable arrival moment.

This is certainly possible, although we would like to point out that the equipment must be transportable up nine flights of stairs if the band is to perform indoors.

A price indication is possible in some cases (for example for Galas) in order to get an estimate. Every quote is customised and fully personalised to your wishes, which is why we do not use standard quotes.

The distance from our back door to the gazebo is 30 metres (We recommend a runner 2 metres wide).
